Last week, a horrific explosion occurred in a quiet Connecticut neighborhood. Nine officers were injured and sent to the hospital. Some of those officers have a long road ahead of them.

A domestic situation turned violent on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 and police were called to a home in North Haven, Connecticut. A woman, who had filed for divorce last month, had allegedly been held hostage and beaten for days by her estranged husband. Police, Connecticut State Troopers and SWAT officers were called upon to remedy the situation. For hours, police tried to coax the man out of the house. That evening, an explosion on the property leveled a barn, destroyed the home and terrified neighbors.

Thankfully, none of the injuries were life threatening. The list of injuries includes broken bones, burns, concussions and more. Some have had surgery, some will require more surgery in the future.

Money raised from the GoFundMe page will help to support the officers and their families as they continue to heal from this horrific experience. If you would like to help, click here for the GoFundMe page that has been set up.
