Have you ever had an awful day and you just come home and you melt in the arms of your loved one? A hug can cure a lot of bad things: anxiety, depression, loneliness, moodiness AND even the common COLD! Trust me, it is scientifically proven!

Researchers at Carnegie Mellon said that hugs and social support can help "reduce the infection of the common cold". YES! See!

This also goes hand in hand with anxiety and depression. When we're anxious and sad we're more likely to have our immunity compromised, leading to an illness.

National Hug Day was created in Michigan in 1986 and it's pretty straight forward: just about spreading love and hugging people.

The date was chosen half-way between the December holidays and Valentines Day, because we're all kind of crazy this time of year.

So you know what! Go hug someone! You need it! If not for your well-being, then for the general health of everyone!
