Check out what was said about Melissa Martino…..

Melissa Martino, a second grade teacher, is nothing short of exemplary. Besides being the teacher that every second grade student and parent wishes for, she was the pioneer for implementing the Ben's Bells "Be Kind" education program at Great Plain school in Danbury last year. This interactive campaign, which began by students tracing their hands and creating a "kindness" tree in the cafeteria, encourages and reminds students and staff to implement kindness both at school and in everyday life. Ms. Martino's students also sent cheerful letters to relatives to simply brighten their day. This is exactly what young students need as they grow and eventually find their place in society- to be compassionate, to think of others, and to be caring.
