Greater Danbury Is Collecting Supplies for Hurricane Harvey Victims
If you would like to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas, drop-off stations are being set up.
According to the NewsTimes, the foundation, Tunnels to Towers, headed up by former First Selectman, John Hodge, has set up locations where you can stop by and drop off items to help hurricane victims.
Locations are being set up in both New York and Connecticut. Drop off locations are at Faith Church on Rt.7 in southern New Milford, the Sherman IGA Supermarket on Rt. 39 in Sherman, and Memorial Field in New Fairfield. This weekend, drop off times at Faith Church are 5pm to 7:30pm on Saturday and 8am to 1pm on Sunday, and 7am to 6pm on Wednesday.
The foundation is looking to truck in water, Gatorade, canned goods, non-perishable food items, diapers, formula, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and pet food. If you can find it in your heart to drop off any of these items off at the above locations you'll be helping more people than you could ever imagine.
The foundation also accepts cash donations on their website at tunneltotowers.org. John Hodge, Chief Operating Officer told the NewsTimes,
We need supplies for sure, but what's probably of better use is money which will allow us to buy gift cards for victims to either local food shops or Home Depot for home repairs.
