Movie fans in the Greater Danbury area have been patiently waiting for The Greatest Showman to hit theaters, and the wait is almost over. The movie about the life and times of Bethel, CT’s PT Barnum opens Wednesday (December 20).

Not only have the stars of The Greatest Showman been the featured subjects of James Corden’s Crosswalk Theater on The Late Late Show this week, the Greatest Showman also just grabbed three nominations for the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards, which were announced Monday morning.

The awards ceremony will take place January 7th 2018 8pm with Seth Meyers as host of the show. Hugh Jackman was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. The movie itself was nominated for Best Picture — Comedy or Musical and the song called “This is me” was nominated for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture.

So far, the film is getting great critical reviews. It will be playing locally at AMC Loews Danbury 16, and other nearby movie theaters. It looks like Star Wars: the Last Jedi won’t be the only movie worth seeing next week in these parts!
