Halloween is right around the corner, so get in the "spirit" with some fun family events happening around the state.

Thanks to the folks at ctvisit.com here are some Haunting Halloween events you might want to check out this weekend.

Wee Faerie Village Presents Whimsical Kingdoms from October 23-25 in Old Lyme.  Take your kids on a magical trip through the fairy tale kingdoms of Cindarella, Rapunzel, Aladdin and more. Tickets cost $15 for adults, $14 for seniors, and $13 for students, children (12 and under) free. Call (860) 434-5542 for more information.

 Trail of Terror is located at 60 North Plains Hwy., Wallingford and ruuns from October 23-25 on Fri. and Sat. 7 p.m.-11 p.m., Sun. 7 p.m.-10 p.m. (The trail may close earlier than times listed if sold out for the night). Visit a world of fright and fantasy that will test your sanity and your soul. The Trail is made up of acres of forsaken forest. (Parental discretion is advised. Not recommended for children under the age of 10). Admission: $20.

The Haunted Basement & Ghostly Sightings Tours is located at Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, 295 West Ave., Norwalk and takes place on Oct. 25 from Noon-4 p.m. The Ghostly Sightings Tours at the mansion takes you on the history of the house, when it was a private residence, between 1868 and 1938.

Visitors may encounter Victorian era ghosts during tour hours, but only at Halloween. On the tours, guests will have the opportunity to see the dark, dungeon-like Civil War-era basement, which will be set up to look like a spine-chilling maze with lighting, playacting, and fun props. Fall Antiques Market will be held at Wilton High School Field House, 395 Danbury Rd. (Rte. 7), Wilton on Oct. 25 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. A full day of shopping with a wide variety of exhibitors and material, with a cafe for refreshments. Admission: $10. (203) 762-7257
