The beloved movie, The Wizard of Oz, is 75 years old today! On August 25th, 1939 the movie was released in theaters, but, surprisingly, it wasn't a smash hit right away. It actually did average at the box office even though it was MGM's most expensive production at the time.

But that has all changed. Now it's one of the most  famous American classic films. What would our world be without that movie now? I always watch it around the holidays when it's played on TV. And who could live without the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"!? I couldn't.

I'm glad the movie is transcending all generations and continues being a classic. And each year people dress as up as the wonderful foursome  that is Dorothy, Tinman, Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion for Halloween.

The Cowardly Lion is by far my favorite character.. what about you?
