Today, the Big Dog Daddy and my favorite country artist of all, Toby Keith celebrates his 54th birthday!

Toby was born in Clinton, Oklahoma on July 8, 1961, where he grew up to play semi-professional football in his home state.

In the early 90's, no one would bite after him submitting demo tape after demo tape. One day on a flight, a flight attendant gave his tape to a music executive at Mercury, who later on ended up signing him!  The rest is history.
