Feline Friday: Parrot Knows How to Speak Cat

As intelligent as I think cats are, I really feel that the term "Bird Brain" should be a compliment rather than an insult. In fact, let me tell you about Rocky, an African Grey Parrot who lived with my friends John and Rosemarie Caporale of Kent, NY.

One day, Ro and I were sitting at her dining room table and Rocky was squaking, squaking, squaking. Ro had finally had enough and said, "Oh, Rocky, would you shut up!" Rocky replied, "F*** YOU!"

Like his namesake, he really didn't take much from anyone, including his dog siblings, a Rottweiler and a Mastive Hound. Although they were much bigger than Rocky, they knew who was boss. From the "I Wouldn't Have Believed It If I Didn't See It Myself" files, my son, Johnny, was playing with the two dogs in front of Rocky's cage. At one point, one of the dogs growled at him. John came over to reprimand the dog and said, "Don't you ever growl at little kids," to which Rocky blurted out, "KILL HIM!"  I swear he knew what he was saying.

Here's another bird that is way too intelligent, he knows how to cat!
