HELLO KITTY ISN’T A CAT!

This is the news that has SHOCKED, SHOCKED the world, I'll tell you. Late afternoon yesterday, it was revealed that Hello Kitty isn't a cat after all, but an actual GIRL! Yup, the iconic cat-looking character is a little British girl who is in third grade and lives outside of London. She does have a pet cat though, named Charmmy Kitty.

This bomb was dropped when the creator of Hello Kitty, Sanrio, went to visit a Los Angeles art exhibit about Hello Kitty. The curator of the exhibit was going over copy points with the creator and was sorely mistaken when she referenced Hello Kitty as a cat.

Sanrio said,  “Hello Kitty is not a cat. She’s a cartoon character. She is a little girl. She is a friend. But she is not a cat. She’s never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature. She does have a pet cat of her own, however, and it’s called Charmmy Kitty.”

AHHHHHHHH BUT WHY DOES THE LITTLE BRITISH GIRL HAVE WHISKERS!? RIDDLE ME THAT!!
