I had no idea about the fabulous organization called Play For Purpose until recently. They are a group of hockey players hosting various events to raise monies and awareness for numerous organizations to help local veterans, children and more in our communities. They are hitting the ice this Saturday in Ridgefield, along with some New York Rangers Alumni.

I love meeting radio listeners. Not only are they passionate about music, they are passionate about many causes. Often, they open my eyes to events I had no idea about. That happened recently when I met Ron. He educated me about the Play For Purpose organization, and, boy oh boy, this is an event for the whole family. Your chance to skate with some hockey legends!

Ron is very involved with the Play For Purpose organization as well as the New York Rangers Sled Hockey Team. Sled Hockey is just one of the amazing athletic events that the Wheelchair Sports Federation is a part of.

This Saturday April 30, Play For Purpose invites everyone to go and watch the New York Rangers Sled Hockey Team take on the Hartford Wolfpack Hockey Team. The event is at the Winter Garden Ice Arena, 111 Prospect Ridge in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Besides your love of hockey, what an incredible fundraiser to be a part of. You also are invited to skate with some of the New York Rangers Alumni in an open skate starting at noon!

Then the action really gets started with the puck dropping at 2 p.m. I'm cheering on the New York Rangers Sled Hockey Team.
