Wait 'till you see what's brewing at 30 Kent Rd.(Rt.7) in New Milford.

When I dropped by the site of the soon-to-be Housatonic River Brewing on Rt.7 in New Milford, Dave Littlefield the owner and Brew Master, came out to greet me and to show me around. He had a big grin on his face when he told me they were getting closer to opening.

As Dave directed me around the side entrance, I could see the spacious parking lot waiting for the brewery's new customers. With construction tools and lumber on the floor, we carefully walked in, Dave showed me the shiny new tanks that had just arrived for the mash and fermentation systems. The new taps were already in place inside the bar area, which defines the rustic coolness of New England.

That side entrance that overlooks the vast parking area will also be home to a comfortable inviting beer garden. I forgot to ask Dave about the kinds of beer the new brewery will be cookin' up, but I'm sure they'll be something for everybody and all made on site.

Dave asked me to return next week to check out the construction progress as the Housatonic Valley Brewing  Company nears completion. I may even have an official opening date in my next blog.
