How Long Before We See Christmas in July?

It seems like every year, someone always says that Christmas decorations are going up earlier and earlier. Basically I always just shrugged it off as perception, not reality, but believe it or not, it's true.

A website called Quartz.com did some research and found out that stores are putting up their Christmas decorations earlier and earlier every year.

They concluded that back in 2000, most stores' decorations went up just before Thanksgiving.  Now?  It's November 8th and they're already up.

They also calculated just how early Christmas decorations are going to go up in the future based on the current trend.  Here's what they found:

• By 2021 Christmas decorations will be up before Halloween
• They'll be up by September 30th by 2050.
• Look for them to be up by Labor Day in 2085.
• And they'll be up by July 31st in 2120.

So at least for right now we'll only have to deal with almost 2 months of "Holiday Hype". However by the time our great grandchildren are around, they can probably expect to see Santa on the beach. Hey only 6 more months till Christmas. That'll be the case unless by then everything will be done thru some sort of futuristic app and stores will wind up being a thing of the past.

So don't complain, it's only going to get worse....by the way Merry Christmas !!!!
