Our first snow fall of the New Year will give us some minor accumulation by Friday morning. It's not going to be a crazy storm, but certainly may impact your Friday morning commute.

According to our Kicks 105.5 Meteorologist, Bill Jacquemin, the snow is expected to start Thursday night after midnight and continue until late morning on Friday. Jacquemin says:

There won't be a lot of snow in this storm, but snow is ice, and any ice is not good for drivers. We're only looking at anywhere from an inch to and inch and a half in most local towns, however you can expect higher totals to the south and east, and a coating to a half inch in Northwest Connecticut.

The main factor with this storm will be the cold temperatures that will be with us right through the weekend.

By the way, some good news for non snow lovers -- the storm that was predicted to give us heavier snow on Saturday night into Sunday looks like it will stay offshore, and should have little or no effect on us.
