How to Make Sure a Pet Is the Right Fit for Your Family

Astra is about a five year old Lab mix and came to the Animal Welfare Society from a high kill shelter down south. She's in New Milford now, just waiting for her new forever home.

Astra seems to love everyone. She gets along well with other dogs and cats too, and after a brief introduction, she warmed up nice to us and even started in with some kisses. However it's always advisable to bring any other pet you have or a pet that you know will have lots of contact with your new dog, and even bring your kids with you when getting serious about adopting any dog from the Animal Welfare Society. It's just a precaution, and a way to make sure everyone's on the same page. It could save you a lot of aggravation in the long run.
