CT Police: Carmel Man Accused Of Stealing, Vandalizing Donald Trump Sign
A Carmel man was arrested over allegations that he stole and damaged a Donald Trump sign.
In late March, the Connecticut State Police-Western District Major Crime posted on their Facebook page surveillance video of a man stealing the entrance sign to the Donald J. Trump State Park in Yorktown.
A white man in his thirties or forties was seen on surveillance video committing the crimes at the park’s entrance, police say. The man was driving a late-model Ford Transit passenger van, dark in color, with tinted rear windows, photos above.
On Friday, 32-year-old Ronald Atzmon of Carmel was arrested for allegedly stealing the Trump sign. He was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony and a misdemeanor for petit larceny. The surveillance cameras helped identify Atzmon as a suspect, police say.
The entrance sign at the Indian Hill section has been replaced.
