Hudson Valley Teen’s Photos Get Awesome Response From OITNB

When Samantha Gardella found out from WRRV that “Orange Is the New Black” filmed just a short ride from her Monroe home, the 19-year-old student decided a photo shoot was in order.

Samantha printed out images from the show and held them up in the actual set location at the abandoned Rockland Children’s Psychiatric Center. The result was a collection of killer photos that has been liked over 130,000 times on her Tumblr.

Samantha told the Huffington Post that getting onto the set wasn’t especially difficult:

There is no gate at the entryway to keep any uninvited guests out. When I went there the second and third time, all of their fences and doors were unlocked, which was odd because you’d think they’d lock everything.

 

The show’s legal team wasn’t too excited about Samantha’s visit to Litchfield, noting that the set was on private New York state property and asking her to respect the “No Trespassing” signs in the future, Buzzfeed reported.

The “Orange Is the New Black” social media team took had a much more laid back reaction: they issued “inmate” Samantha “LLCoolade” a shot for the “fantastic photos featuring scenes from OITNB.”
