Hudson Valley Girl Becomes a Millionaire on ‘America’s Got Talent’
She may only be 12, but Grace VanderWaal won over the hearts of the country and is the latest winner of America's Got Talent. And get this -- she's from the Hudson Valley.
According to patch.com, the 12-year-old from Suffern made some Hudson Valley history Wednesday night when she was announced as the winner of America's Got Talent's 11th season.
As the big winner, Grace gets $1,000,000, and she'll star in her own show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
With the win she was able to beat out -- by just over 1% of the vote -- the mentalist team, The Clairvoyants, as well as third place finisher magician, Jon Dorenbos, who is also a long snapper for the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles.
The engagement is actually part of “America’s Got Talent Live,” a stage show version of the series.
Here's Grace as Nick Cannon -- wearing a Turban -- makes the big announcement.
