Hunter Hayes Breaks World Record

Hunter Hayes will now see his name printed in the Guinness Book of World Records! He just wrapped up playing a record number of shows — 10, to be exact — in the span of 24 hours.

It wasn’t just an effort to break a world record previously held by the Flaming Lips. Hayes teamed up with ConAgra Foods to help end child hunger, calling his ambitious endeavor the 24 Hour Road Race to End Child Hunger.

He played 10 shows in 10 cities, beginning on Friday (May 9) on ‘Good Morning America’ on ABC, and from there, he hit the stage in Boston, Worcester, Mass., Providence, R.I., New London, Conn., New Haven, Conn., Stamford, Conn., South Orange, N.J., Asbury Park, N.J. and finished in Philadelphia on Saturday (May 10) with a 5AM ET show.

“I cannot believe how much fun this whole day has been and that it’s only been a day! 10 shows in 24 hours with the best fans in the world and a great cause with Child Hunger Ends Here,” says the 22-year-old. “I’m so proud to get to work with them and all the sponsors. Thank you to all the fans for not only making history with us but also making this whole thing absolutely awesome!”

Dan and Shay, Charlie Worsham, the Railers, and others opened for Hayes for his record-making concerts.

Hayes certainly had an exhausting and exhilarating week, highlighted by the release of his sophomore album ‘Storyline’ and his 24-hour road race. After his We’re Not Invisible Tour wraps up at the end of May, he deserves a little bit of a break — and maybe a really long nap.
