  • A Thursday fire at a condo in Ridgefield sent three family members  to the Connecticut Burn Center in Bridgeport where they remain sedated and in guarded condition. Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire that destroyed the condo.
  • Quicken Loans is facing a federal lawsuit from the Justice Department over improper Federal Housing Administration Loans. The government alleges Quicken encouraged workers to ignore FHA rules from September 2007- December 2011. Other allegations include Quicken employees were encouraged to falsely certify that loans were in compliance with underwriting requirements  so they would profit from the federally-insured mortgages.
  • It's not just the beautiful people who can get jobs at Abercrombie & Fitch anymore! Starting today the clothing chain is dropping it's "appearance and sense of style" hiring rule that dictated drop-dead good looks. The sales force will now be called "brand representatives" instead of "models." Company executives say it's part of their plan to cater to more shoppers.
