It should be an epic battle for this years Connecticut Class M State Football Championship as two locals battle it out on Saturday.

 

The Brookfield Bobcats (10-2) advanced to their 3rd straight Class M State Football Championship game Monday night with a 34-13 over Killingly High School. Meanwhile the New Fairfield Rebels (11-1) also advanced with a 13-0 win over Ledyard.

This set's up the two SWC rivals to go head to head this Saturday morning for the Connecticut Class M State Football Championship. The game is set for a 10:30 am start at West Haven High School.

Both teams have had impressive season's with the Bobcats handing New Fairfield it's only loss with a 27-13 win during the 2015 season's opening week.

According to newstimes.com Brookfield Quarterback John Roscigno was quoted as saying about the New Fairfield Rebels, “It’s like a neighborhood showdown,” they’re a tough team, a very good team. It’s going to be a matter of who’s going to prepare better.”

New Fairfield Coach Anthony Fata was quoted by newstimes.com about the Brookfield Bobcats, “We’ve got to get healthy, iron out the kinks.  It’s just going to be execution. It’s going to be a battle of the defenses.”

So now the season ends like it started with the same two teams who kicked off the 2015 campaign battling it out again, this time for the Connecticut Class M State Football Championship.
