I've mentioned this on the air many times, but whenever we're in the Fishkill area, there's one place I have to stop for dinner, and that's Cracker Barrel.

Yeah, I like Country Music, but when we're talking good ole country cooking, then we're taking things to another level. So, anytime we travel to the Fishkill area, we make it a point to stop in and grab some dinner at Cracker Barrel.

I don't know if it's the Country Store that my wife loves, or the food, which we both love, but it's a must stop anytime we're near exit 13N of I-84.

There's something very relaxing about the place, even when it's crowded. It's the friendly service, the country atmosphere, the comfort food. How about those Cracker Barrel biscuits?

During my most recent visit, I chose something new on their menu, Campfire Chicken. It was great. The chicken was moist, and came right off the bone. The meal also included corn on the cob, carrots, stewed tomatoes, onions and potatoes wrapped in foil to seal in all the flavor.

Now, I have to mention one of my other favorite reasons for going to Cracker Barrel, and that's the Peg Game that you can play right at your table. I never mind waiting for my food when I'm trying to solve this puzzle. Most of the time, the food is served too soon, right in the middle of one of my games.

The best I've ever done is 2 pegs left. That means I'm "purdy smart" according to what's written on the peg board. If you want to impress your friends next time you're there, here's a look on how to be a "Genius".

So, when I'm in a "Country State Of Mind", and want some good old fashioned country cooking, there's only one place I want to go, and that's to Route 9 in Fishkill and Cracker Barrel. You all come back now, ya hear.
