It’s Opening Day fellow Mets fans!

Today kicks off another exciting Baseball season for New York, hopefully one with a better outcome, right Met fans?  The team from Flushing Queens finished with a 74-88 record last year, which is a promising result given the roster and state of affairs within the Mets organization. Terry Collins has done the best he can with what he has, right?

The first game of the season starts this afternoon at 1:10 at Citi Field between the Mets and the Washington Nationals who look reasonably strong this year.

The Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy will miss the big game today because his wife is in labor! We of course wish him and his wife the best..On top of that, 4-5 Mets players are fighting the Flu according to Terry Collins, including outfielder Chris Young..no, not the country star. He also has a quad injury which will keep him from playing as well.

So between the injuries, various missing players, and a wet start to the day, this should be a great start to the Mets season!...sense the sarcasm?
