I'm 27-years-old, so obviously the Pinterest app is one of my most frequently used. This weekend, I experienced my first true Pinterest fail. However, I turned a disastrous crafting attempt into a delicious dessert.

Because it's fall and everyone is getting their apple and pumpkin picking done, I figured it was time for me to get on board. I hadn't purchased a pumpkin to carve, so I stopped at the Apple Bin in Ulster Park on my way home. I had seen a DIY melted crayon pumpkin on Pinterest, and decided to be very ambitious and give it a go. I bought, what I was calling a white pumpkin, but really it's a cheese pumpkin, so that the colors would run down and be visible. Long story short, it was a mess. Luckily, it was just wax, so I peeled it off and scrubbed the heck out of the pumpkin.

When I was at the Apple Bin, the gentleman behind the counter told me the cheese pumpkin was the best to make a pumpkin pie with. So, with my newly cleaned pumpkin, I went back on Pinterest, and found a fresh pumpkin pie recipe. You can find the super simple recipe here. Here is a picture of the pumpkin before, as well as the end result:

I will say, if it's your first time making a pumpkin pie, allot yourself some time. Baking time alone is around 90 minutes. My question for you bakers out there is, now that I have a bunch of left over Pumpkin Puree, what should I do with it? Let me know on Facebook!
