Major the K-9 Sworn In as New Brookfield Police Officer
The new Brookfield Police recruit, Major happily barked his approval at being formally inducted as the newest member of Brookfield's Police Department.
Major is a 3-year-old black German Sheperd who comes to us from the Slovak Republic and will be partnering up with Brookfield Police Officer Joseph Kyek. Major and Officer Kyek took the Oath of Office in front of a full Huckleberry Hill School Assembly because the student body collectively chose Major's name.
To become a K-9 officer, Major, and his partner Officer Kyek had to complete a 14-week course at the K-9 Police Academy. They will ride together to keep the streets of Brookfield safe. OK boys and girls, who can tell me where the Slovak Republic is located. The first student with the correct answer will not be given any homework tonight! Take a look at this video that shows a K-9 puppy trainee.
