Even when you thought you'd heard everything, a nugget like this piece of info floats across your desk. If you live in Danbury, the switch is on, the light switch that is.

Love them or not, the new LED bulbs are here to stay. If you are a Danbury resident, then this Saturday is your chance to get in on a trade of a different source.

In a story from newstimes.com you can indeed get something for free on Saturday, Jan. 21 in Danbury. You can trade up to five of those old school incandescent light bulbs that you're attached to for those squiggly long-lasting LED bulbs during a giveaway planned by Eversource.

This offer is good only for Danbury folks, so bring identification along with those old, less efficient bulbs you'd like to ditch to Henry Abbott Tech, 21 Hayestown Avenue from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Jan. 21.

You can get five for five for free. According to the article, Eversource will also have LED bulbs on site, available to purchase at a discount.

In my opinion, it does take awhile to get used to these new LED bulbs, but once I did, not only do I see a savings in my bill, but the strain on my eyes is less. I think eventually we won't be able to find the old incandescent bulbs, so you might as well take advantage of this offer.
