Local Landmark Closing Its Doors This Sunday

The Inn at Newtown, a historic landmark on Main Street in Newtown will be closing for good this Sunday.

The restaurant issued a post on social media this week announcing the closure. The restaurant, which has been operating for the past 17 years, will close its doors after the final dinner service this Sunday, Jan. 10.

According to newstimes.com, the restaurant is offering a reduced price menu, and bargin prices on wines and spirits as a way to thank customers for their loyalty over the years.

To help the staff, the owners will be putting a portion of the proceeds from the final week of sales into a fund to benefit the staff members who will be loosing their jobs when the restaurant closes.
