It's not really a surprise, but you can expect lots of traffic this weekend. Whether you are driving or flying, it will be busy.

According to the Putnam Daily Voice, AAA estimates 35.5 million Americans will be traveling between today and Wednesday. Those numbers show a one percent increase from last year.

The reason for an increase in travel is the lower fuel costs. When the cost of gas goes down, it can result in a lot of last-minute decisions to go away. So keep that in mind when you are traveling this weekend.

The good news, though, is the lower gas prices. The price of gas in New York is averaged at $2.62 per gallon, Connecticut's average per gallon is $2.58, and New Jersey has the lowest average of $2.17.
