Maddie & Tae are giving new meaning to their single "Fly" with the release of a new video for the song, which was filmed during a visit at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt as part of the Shine Bright Campaign.

Ambassadors for the Shine Bright Campaign, Maddie & Tae have urged others to assist in the letter writing initiative in Middle Tennessee, which gives encouragement to patients at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, as well as their families and caregivers. Their music video for "Fly" includes patients undergoing treatment at the hospital, employees caring for the children and visits from family members. The nearly four-minute video shares clips of Maddie & Tae teaching patients how to play guitar, posing for photos and singing in hospital rooms.

“Seeing the light and joy in the eyes of the patients we were able to sing and play with would brighten anyone’s day,” Tae Dye says in a press release. “Knowing people find something encouraging in this music is the greatest gift we can be given.”

The video also shares the duo drawing and making paper airplanes with patients that they'll later release and fittingly, let "Fly" through the hospital. The clip also shows the difficulties families have holding their sick children in their arms, which is guaranteed to bring some tears. Maddie Marlow hopes that seeing the video will help encourage people to share their support for the initiative through writing letters.

“Supporting the Shine Bright Campaign, especially interacting with the patients and caregivers at Children’s Hospital, has been one of the most rewarding things we’ve done,” she says. “Knowing this special version of ‘Fly’ will also encourage people to write letters of support is the icing on the cake.”

Maddie & Tae will join Lee Brice on the road next month for his Life Off My Years tour.
