We all use the popular Metro North Railroad one way or another whether it's for commuting to work, or visiting the city for pleasure.

Well it looks like parts of the system could be seeing some upgrades over the next number of years.

According to LoHud, plans for new train cars, upgrades to stations, and an overall improved infrastructure are things that customers could see in the future. The MTA's $26.1 billion capital plan includes $2.6 billion for Metro North Railroad.

The largest investment in MTA history plans for improvements over the next five years to it's railway, subway and bus services. These changes will indeed affect services in Putnam and Westchester counties.

New next-generation rail cars, improvements to maintenance facilities, station improvements and overall updates to tracks, signals, and power are expected as well included with infrastructure repairs.

The Metro North Railroad is a very reliable means of transportation for those of us in Putnam/Westchester and Greater Danbury, and this will make it all even better!
