A missing local woman has been identified as the woman whose body was found in a suitcase on the side of the road in Connecticut.

Valerie Reyes, 24, of New Rochelle went missing from the Hudson Valley on Jan. 29.

On Monday, a woman's dead body was found inside a suitcase in Greenwich, C.T., police say. The woman was found inside the suitcase with her hands and feet bound, WFSB reports.

Late Thursday, Greenwich police identified the victim as Reyes. Thursday night a vigil was held for Reyes in her hometown.

"My daughter did not deserve whatever you did to her, my daughter was pure," mom Norma Sanchez said according to ABC. "Sooner or later he will get caught, I know it."

Days before she went missing, the 24-year-old who worked at a Barnes and Noble in Eastchester told her mother she feared for her life, NBC reports.

Reyes lived in the same apartment building as her dad who hasn't been heard from since Reyes went missing, according to NBC. Reyes broke up with her girlfriend days before she went missing, her mother told ABC.

Police still don't know where the murder took place. A medical examiner hasn't confirmed the cause of death.
