Mother of Slain Journalist Jim Foley to Speak at Bantam Cinema

Jim Foley was an American freelance journalist covering the Syrian civil war in 2012. He was abducted in Northwest Syria on November 22, 2012, and executed on August 19, 2014 by members of the Islamic State of Iraq (ISIS). Foley was the first American citizen executed by ISIS.

The HBO Documentary Film Jim: The James Foley Story will be screened Saturday June 25, 2016 at Noon at Bantam Cinema. Foley's mother, Diane Foley will be in attendance at the screening, and will address the audience afterwards. Admission is free, but you must make reservations by e-mailing events@bantamcinema.com.

I cannot imagine how horrible and helpless the Foley family felt as this global event unfolded. An innocent life taken by the hands of radical extremists. Bravo, Bantam Cinema, your efforts to organize and host these events is admirable. This kind of opportunity, to be in the same room as Diane Foley and speak with her and find out more about her brave son, is very rare, and important.
