You may have heard me talk about my morning walks on the air. I've never been one to set my alarm to get up and exercise (sleep is valuable), but I have been setting my alarm for 6 a.m. every day (even weekends) for the past two weeks.

The reason is simple; I'm trying to get in better shape. I have been seeing my doctor every few months to check on progress and I needed to do something other than watch what I eat. Life gets busy and it's hard to set time aside for you, but it's worth it. My doctor stressed the importance of making time for myself, so that's what I did.

It's not always easy to get up, but I always feel so good once I get back to the house and see how many steps I have on my Fitbit. The past two days I have conquered a hill that I thought it would take me months to walk up without hurting, but I think I was just psyching myself out to give myself an excuse not to try it. When I get to the top of the hill it feels great and I feel so energized.

What's my reason for writing this? I know it's not easy to make time for you, but if you find yourself stressed and not having a lot of time, try setting the alarm for a little earlier in the morning. I have felt so much better since I started doing this and if I can do it, you can do it too. Trust me...I really like my sleep ;-)
