  • The son of an Easton couple who have not been seen for weeks is now also missing. The Connecticut Post reports that Kyle Navin packed his car and left his Bridgeport home about a week agoNavin is a person of interest in the disappearance of his parents, Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin.
  • Connecticut's new budget is off to a balanced start. The Governor's budget office says the state is posting a modest $800,000 surplus for the fiscal year that started July 1st. That's a fraction of the 40-billion-dollar, two-year budget passed by the Legislature.
  • Is it hot enough for you? Federal officials are reporting that July saw the highest average temperatures since record-keeping began, in the U.S. and around the world. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, said Thursday that the latest worldwide temperature data indicates that 2015 will be the hottest year on record. The agency said the first seven months of the year saw record highs globally.
  • Can you say road trip! The anti-Disneyland opens today in England. It's called "Dismaland Bemusement Park," It was created by the famous street artist, Banksy. The artist transformed a rundown beach front water park on the English coast into a satirical theme park.The attractions include Cinderella's Castle, Guerilla Island, Water Cannon Creek, an oil-themed mini-golf course, a giant pinwheel and a gothic circus tent.
