Nascar Season is Underway

Did you finally catch the annual running of the Daytona 500 last night after the 6 hour rain delay?  They were able to begin the race and made it through an initial 100 miles, but downpours and severe weather halted the Great American Race. Later on, 6 hours later, they got the race going again and at first I wasn't even sure that NASCAR was going to fit in all remaining 400 miles, but they did.

What's better than them being able to race after all? Being able to turn the Daytona 500 into a night race!

Congratulations to Dale Earnhardt Jr and the entire Hendrick Motorsports team on their win last night at the 500 and a well deserved trip to victory lane. This ended Dale's 57-race winless streak and it also made him 1 of 11 drivers who have won the Daytona 500 more than once...If you recall, he won the big race back in 2004 as well!

Now that the NASCAR season has begun, can we welcome some warmer weather?? .. Wishful thinking..
