New Fairfield Road Closures For Thursday

It looks like the New Fairfield School System will be doing some evacuation drills tomorrow, closing some main roads.

According to The News Times, all four schools including New Fairfield High, New Fairfield Middle, Meeting House, and Consolidated Schools will be holding emergency evacuation drills on Thursday. These will begin just after 9am tomorrow.

Parts of two major roads, Gillotti Road, which is the main access road to the schools, and also Barnum Road, a major access road from Danbury, will be closed for about an hour. Parts of Route 39 will also be closed during these drills.

The town says to choose alternate routes when traveling through the area. It's all about the kids' safety and it's great to see the school system and town doing this.
