Those new holiday laser decorations may pose a threat to local aviation and have already been reported by pilots around the country.

My wife likes to call them "lazy lights", but they are the rage this holiday season. As a matter of fact, try buying one at any of the local stores and you'll hear the same thing, "sorry we're sold out".

It's easy, just stake it in the ground and plug it in and you've got a whole house filled with red and green lights, lights that have been posing a danger to local aviation.

An American Airlines pilot reported getting beamed by a laser while landing in Dallas last week, the culprit in this case was a Christmas light display 22 miles away.

Pilots call it "getting lazed", but their taking the incidents very seriously.

Here's a report on whats going on from KBCW-TV in San Francisco.
