That beautiful face belongs to 11-year-old Bryce Lewis. Bryce is this year's Youth Honoree for the Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) Danbury Walk in Danbury.

Diagnosed with epilepsy at 5 years of age, one morning he woke up and couldn't move. It was then that his parents got the news from Connecticut Children’s Medical Center that Bryce had JIA.  Biologic injections help manage his daily pain as he continues to be a typical kid playing basketball and trying to just "have fun".

For the past three years, Bryce's family has been on a quest to raise awarness for JIA. His mom, Laura Lewis says:

People tend to associate it with an "older persons" concern. Bryce does not know what it's like to live a day pain-free. But he does know that it's important to let other kids know that even if they have arthritis, and some pain, that they can still participate in things like baseball and basketball and other activities that kids do. He strives to be a champion of Yes! Arthritis is the #1 cause of disability in the United States and there is no cure. Bryce is fundraising to help find a cure.

The 2017 Walk to Cure Arthritis is this Sunday, April 30 at Immaculate High School, 73 Southern Boulevard in Danbury from 9:00am to noon. Click here for more info and to help support Bryce's Battle Droids.
