For 20 years the Bank Street Coffee House has been one of those places that gave the town of New Milford its' down home charm. But on October 28, they will serve their last cup of joe.

In a post from their Facebook page the owners of Bank Street Coffee Shop are asking for patrons to be kind to the landlords:

Last Thursday our landlord informed us they were going to be doing some structural renovations to the building that would make us unable to run our business. They also said that they would not be renewing leases and that after renovations were complete...a lease would not be a possibility. To move to a new location would be an expensive undertaking...so we made the decision to close. While we appreciate all the support... we do not want the landlord to be harmed by bad publicity It is their building and they do have a right to decide who they rent to. We are desperately trying to leave on a positive note. Please help us to do that.

Items from the coffee shop will be auctioned at the coffee house on October 30th. Although they hope to continue their business in a new location, Bank Street Coffee House has yet to find a spot.
