Study Finds Connecticut Drivers As Some of the Worst in the U.S.

A new survey just released found that Connecticut and Massachusetts have the worst drivers in the United States.

The survey is called The Allstate America's Best Driver's Report and New England drivers apparently need some driving lessons. Two hundred cities from across the country were ranked according to the average years between collisions and relative collision likelihood compared to the national average. The cities surveyed had populations of 50,000 or more.

The following cities had the best drivers according to the survey:

Brownsville, Texas
Kansas City, Kansas
Madison, Wisconsin
Cape Coral, Florida
Boise, Idaho
Huntsville, Alabama
Port St. Lucie, Florida
Wichita, Kansas
Olathe, Kansas
Reno Nevada

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that the safest drivers live in sections of the country where life moves at about 10 mph, or where the average age of the drivers is 68-years-old. Where are people in going in Cape Coral, FL, except out to dinner at 4pm? Here in New England, in the Boston, New Haven and Bridgeport, areas we've got places to get to fast -- no time for turn signals or speed limits. We're all very important, so checking text messages while we cruise at 85mph is a must.
