It looks like NY Governor Cuomo signed a new bill yesterday that requires students to get Meningitis Shots in certain grades.

According to the Putnam Daily Voice, students entering the sixth and eleventh grades will now need to get these vaccinations. This will have to be done before students enter into these grades.

It looks like the New York State assembly and senate approved the proposed idea back in June, as they got advice from the CDC.

The New York Daily News says that this particular vaccine legislation was included in more than 60 other bills that Governor Cuomo either signed or voted against late on Monday evening.

There has been some disagreement between whether or not people should get these preventative vaccines because some say there's a link between them and autism. Either way, Governor approved these changes and will take place.
