The Newtown Police Department is reaching out to the public in hopes to find information regarding what they call a "disturbing complaint."

A press release issued today (February 21) says that the NPD received a complaint that on at least seven occasions over the past year, an unknown person or persons has tossed used ostomy bags (pictured above) on the side of the road near the complainant's home.

While the bags were thrown in Newtown in the area of Plumtrees Rd. and Taunton Hill Rd. right near the Bethel line several times, police don't believe that the resident who made the complaint is a target. They say it just so happens to be where the waste is being discarded.

In case you are unaware, an ostomy bag is defined as "a prosthetic medical device that provides a means for the collection of waste such as urine or feces from a surgically diverted biological system"

If you or anyone you know has any information on this matter, please contact Officer Penna at 203-426-5841.
