Newtown’s Edmond Town Hall to Screen Iconic Rock Movie

It's been called the "best concert film ever," and it's back on the big screen for one day. The Edmond Town Hall in Newtown will celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Band's final concert with two showings of The Last Waltz on Thursday, November 17.

The Last Waltz documents The Band's farewell concert, performed at San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom on Thanksgiving night 1976.  In the film, The Band are joined by special guests ranging from Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Ringo Starr and Neil Young to Bob Dylan, who they backed in the 1960's.

The film was directed by Martin Scorcese and is widely regarded as one of the best Rock movies ever made.  It makes its return to the Edmond Town Hall on November 17 for two showings, at 1 and 7 PM. Tickets are only $2 and all proceeds from the show will go towards sound improvements at the theater. For more info, here's the event's Facebook page.
