New York State Police have increased security patrols as New York's Governor Cuomo has instructed them to do so, and the NYPD says it has tightened security at high-profile locations too “out of an abundance of caution”. These measures are in place following the deadly explosion in Manchester, England Monday according to USNews.Com and the Associated Press. They reported that the New York City Police Spokesperson warned that New Yorkers may see:

"heavy weapons teams, dogs that detect explosives as well as special counterterrorism officers.

Likely we'll see authorities randomly inspecting bags at all city transit locations more frequently. It may require a little more patience on our end, but it will prove to be well worth it at the end of the day to be safe.
