The Old Mill on Scovill Road in New Milford will soon be a thing of the past as the town gets ready to knock it down.

According to The News Times, the former 320,000 square foot Century Brass Mill will be demolished in the coming weeks. The 72 acre property will be prepped so the building can be taken down as $7 million was approved in July for this to happen.

Mike Zarba, who's the Public Works director, says that Standard Demolition Services of Trumbull will be doing the work over the next few weeks.

A major environmental cleanup worth millions of dollars for the land was conducted by the town with federal and state loans and grants helping it along. It will continue as the building is taken down, and after the fact.
