While authorities are still releasing information, NBC reports that the man who died in the crash was a flight instructor. The FAA says that the plane is a Cessna C-172, which left Danbury Airport, and is believed to have gone down near Candlelight Farms Airport some time around 9:17 this morning (August 11).

LifeStar helicopters were dispatched to the scene, transporting one female victim to Danbury hospital. Various social media accounts from both residents and news sources have claimed that the downed plane is the property of Arrow Aviation flight school in Danbury.

A man who was in the backseat of the Cessna during the crash was transported to Danbury Hospital by ambulance after he got out out the plane and made it about 300 yards to a home, where he asked the residents to call 911.
