Police: CT Man Displayed Fake Police Badge During Traffic Stop in Patterson
A Connecticut man is facing felony charges after he allegedly displayed a fraudulent badge and police identification card during a traffic stop.
On April 9 at approximately 10:45PM, troopers stopped a 2002 Mercedes Benz for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on Interstate 84 in the Town of Southeast.
The operator of the vehicle, identified as Robert T. Mclean Jr., age 54, of Waterbury, CT, was interview by troopers. During the interview, Mclean displayed a fraudulent Mount Vernon Housing Police shield and forged police identification card.
Mclean was arrested and charged with possession of a forged instrument (class D felony) and criminal impersonation second-degree.
Mclean was arraigned in the Town of Patterson and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail, or $3,000 bond.
He is scheduled to return to court later this month.
