Police in Putnam County arrested a man that they believe to be on parole after he was found in possession of heroin.

Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit arrested 27-year-old Kyle R. Heady, of Mahopac near his home after he was allegedly in possession of heroin.

Heady was charged with 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony.

Police say Heady is reportedly on state parole for a prior criminal conviction and could face charges for violating the conditions of his parole.

Heady was arraigned at Carmel Town Court and was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000.00 cash bail or $50,000.00 bail bond.

He could receive up to nine years in prison if convicted on the drug charge.
