Police say man was arrested in Brewster after he allegedly used fake money to buy X-box video gaming equipment.

New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Brewster barracks arrested 25-year-old Aaron Coderre of Brookfield, Connecticut for 1st-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a class C felony and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

Following an investigation conducted by the State Police, it was discovered that Coderre allegedly used counterfeit currency to purchase X-box video gaming equipment. The incident occurred in the Town of Southeast on March 6, 2016.

Coderre was arraigned at the Village of Brewster Court and was remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond. He’s scheduled to reappear in Town of Southeast Court on March 31.
