A Newtown man was arrested in association with a burglary that occurred on Brushy Hill Road.

According to a press release from the Newtown Police Department, officers responded to the Brushy Hill home at about 10:00 PM on Wednesday (June 14) on a report from the homeowner that a suspicious male was walking on his property. Upon investigation, police discovered that a vehicle located inside the home's garage had been broken into and burglarized. The NPD believes that 27-year-old, Andrew Korngiebel of Newtown, who was found on the property, is responsible for the stolen item and was arrested accordingly.

In addition to those charges, Korngiebel was also arrested for a PRAWN warrant that was issued after he failed to appear in court for a drug charge in Watertown back in April of 2016. PRAWN warrants (Paperless Re-Arrest Warrant Network) is an online system that gives police departments immediate access to the warrant information as soon as it has been issued.

Andrew Korngiebel was charged with first degree burglary, sixth sdegree larceny, and failure to appear. He posted a $10,000 bond for the burglary charges and $350 for the PRAWN warrant. He is scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior court on June 29 and Danbury Superior Court on June 30.
